Freeze-Dried Chicken Breast Treats for Puppies
A simple, high-value puppy treat made with plain chicken breast and a home freeze dryer. Great for training, recall, and puppy class.
Ingredients
- 1 to 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Instructions
- Trim away any obvious fat or tough bits from the chicken.
- Cook the chicken plain by boiling or baking until fully done.
- Let it cool completely.
- Cut into very small training-size pieces.
- Pat dry with paper towels.
- Arrange in a single layer on freeze-dryer trays.
- Run the freeze dryer using your normal settings for cooked meat.
- Break open a few larger pieces to make sure they are fully dry in the center.
- Let cool briefly, then store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Do not add salt, oil, seasoning, garlic, onion, sauce, or marinade.
- Start with a small amount if your puppy has a sensitive stomach.
- Use tiny pieces for training.

- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
- Discard if the treats feel soft, damp, or develop an off smell.
