Esay Pie Crust Recipe
Secret stolen recipe for an easy pie crust!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour (chilled in fridge)
- 2 sticks of butter (chilled in freezer) sliced into small cubes (quarters lengthwise then chopped into small cubes)
- 1 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1 1/2 tsp of sugar
Instructions
- Chill flour in refrigerator and butter in freezer
- Add flour to a cold bowl, then add salt and sugar
- Mix cold butter into mixture and mix until pebbly, not too long, do not melt butter.
- Add between 1/2 and 3/4 cup of cold water and mix. Idea is to have all flour combined, but not gluey.
- Add two drops of white vinegar for voodoo reasons.
- Mash into an oblong disc immediately and put in ziploc bag then put in freezer for half an hour.
- Remove from freezer and tear into two. Add to a floured work surface and dust dough with flour
- Mash into semi-flatness 4-6 inches wide then fold in on itself the size of a ring box? Then roll out into the size of a pie.
- Add water if too dry and add flour if oo wet. Rolling may be strenuous keep turning and giving it rolls until pie sized
- Drop into pie dish then roll out the top in the same manner. Do not let things get too warm.
- Now you are ready for filling and baking.
